Before starting physical activity

Before engaging in any type of physical activity more complex than walking, and if you have any health condition that may interfere with exercise and/or you are over 50 years old, it is important to discuss it with a health professional.

When choosing the type of physical activity you want to practice, bear in mind your age, your health status, if you have been physically active in the past, your sedentary level, your preferences and the frequency of physical activity.

Everybody’s different, therefore, the choice of the physical activity should be done individually, as it is not “one size fits all”, even within the same gender or age group.

It is very important to have this in consideration because even people with the same health problems may not react similarly to the same type of physical activity.
